Plans are forging ahead to deliver a new school hall at Engadine High School with the project now out for tender.
School halls are a natural gathering point for students and staff, and they can also be a vital part of a thriving local community.
As part of the planning process we will look at opportunities for community use as well as the possibility of sharing some of the facilities with neighbouring schools in the area.
This important project was announced as an election promise and it’s fantastic to see it moving ahead with it now open for construction tender.
I’m excited that Engadine High School is receiving this fantastic piece of infrastructure which will include a full basketball court, storage and amenities, serving students and the community.
The Department of Education is working to complete the detailed hall design, award construction contracts and begin construction in 2021. Schematic designs will be shared with the local community as the project progresses.
The NSW Government is investing $7 billion over the next four years, continuing its program to deliver more than 200 new and upgraded schools to support communities across NSW. This is the largest investment in public education infrastructure in the history of NSW.
