Work to conserve the Woronora River RSL Sub-Branch will soon commence thanks to a funding injection from the NSW Government’s $125,000 Community War Memorial Fund.
Our region has a proud military history and I’m thrilled to see locals actively working to conserve sites that recognise this service and sacrifice.
Woronora River RSL Sub-Branch holds special significance to our community so I am pleased to see this restoration work.
The project will include replacing the damaged lighting and installing protective guards to prevent future damage.
Projects from Bulahdelah to Gundagai received funding of up to $10,000 to conserve, repair and protect the State’s existing war memorials.
The NSW Government is committed to funding these initiatives to acknowledge the important service and sacrifice of our veterans in their communities.
Applications for the second round of the Community War Memorial Fund opened on Remembrance Day, 11 November 2021 and will close 11 February 2022. A further $125,000 of funding will be available.
