I encourage the Heathcote community to come together today,  Friday March 17 to stamp out bullying. More than 1,500 schools across Australia are taking part today in the seventh National Day of Action against Bullying and Violence.

This includes schools within our electorate such as Engadine Public School, Heathcote East Public School, Holy Cross Catholic Primary School, Helensburgh and Marton Public School and Yarrawarrah Public School.

The day is run for school communities across the country to take a stand against bullying, and is also an opportunity for schools to share their anti-bullying policies, strategies and programs with the wider community.

Today is a great opportunity for our community to stand as one against bullying and violence. Bullying whether it’s in schools, the workplace or online is totally unacceptable, and it’s important that we as a community stand up to bullying wherever we see it. I congratulate everyone participating in this national day of action, and thank them for helping make our local community a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for all.
