A fleet of 89 new ambulances has been rolled out to communities across NSW as part of the NSW Liberals and Nationals’ response to COVID-19.

I am pleased my community will benefit from 4 additional class 1 ambulances which will support paramedics responding to emergencies in the community.

Thanks to a $17 million investment by the NSW Government, Engadine, Menai, Caringbah and Wollongong have all received new ambulances.

These new ambulances with additional life-saving equipment on board are a tremendous boost to our community, helping our paramedics to help us, when we need it most.

Our paramedics will have the latest airway equipment such as laryngoscopes, and upgraded life-saving defibrillators on hand to enhance the support they provide to seriously ill patients.

To ensure NSW Ambulance’s response capability remains flexible throughout the pandemic, the deployment locations of the additional ambulances can be updated if required to prioritise areas experiencing a higher demand.

The $17 million is part of the NSW Government’s $800 million investment to boost ICU capacity and purchase additional services and medical equipment.
