NSW seniors are being offered more great discounts on their energy bills, following the renewal of the extremely popular AGL Energy’s (AGL) Seniors Energy Gas & Electricity Plans. I encourage seniors to take advantage of the potential savings available on their electricity, gas and solar bills through the NSW Seniors Card Program.
The NSW Government continues to make the extremely popular NSW Seniors Card program bigger and better each and every year. This new deal, which now includes a special offer for solar electricity, will help make ease seniors’ cost of living pressures.This deal is great news for seniors in Heathcote particularly as we head into winter.
With AGL’s 2016 offer, Seniors Card holders in NSW can receive;
- A guaranteed discount of 18 per cent on electricity (20 per cent if combined gas)
- A guaranteed discount of 12 per cent on gas (14 per cent if combined with electricity)
- A guaranteed discount of 18 per cent on solar electricity (20 per cent if combined with gas)
- Three months free solar electricity and a solar monitoring service with signup to AGL’s Solar Smart Plan
- $25 credit for online signup for either gas or electricity
- $50 credit for online signup to both gas and electricity
The NSW Government partnered with AGL in May 2015 to offer NSW Seniors Card members access to discounted energy plans. Since then, more than 27,000 seniors have joined the plan.
AGL General Manager, Marketing & Retail Sales, Mark Brownfield said AGL was delighted to renew the offer and continue to work with NSW Government to provide NSW seniors with great savings. “AGL’s energy offer gives NSW Seniors Card holders’ access to competitive discounts off their gas and electricity usage charges as well special offers on solar and a range of other benefits. We also have a dedicated senior’s line to answer any questions seniors might have about the program,” Mr Brownfield said.
Last year the NSW Government promised to provide more savings for Seniors Card holders by investing a further $2 million over four years into the Seniors Card program to expand the number of businesses offering discounts.
There are over 1.4 million people with a NSW Seniors Card, which provides discounts on a wide range of products and services from more than 2,000 individual businesses across the state.
