I encourage local sports facilities in Heathcote to apply for part of the $100 million fund to be invested in new and existing community sporting facilities and playing fields across Greater Sydney.
The Greater Sydney Sport Facility Fund will go towards creating more open spaces at a time when many local sporting grounds are stretched to capacity.
We know that improved access to facilities encourages participation, and it is a priority within Heathcote to enhance our sporting facilities and play fields to support community involvement.
The announcement forms part of the $290 million funding injection from the Government announced earlier this week to make NSW communities more liveable and green. In addition is the hugely successful $207 million Active Kids program that is helping parents pay for their kids sport.
The investment is something communities have been calling out for and thanks to the NSW Liberals & Nationals Government’s strong economic management they are now able to deliver it.
Our focus is on reducing the pressure on our spaces, and we know that by maximising the use of our facilities, we can continue to support sport participation throughout Sydney.
