I am delighted to announce the start of Youth Week 2018 the annual celebration of young people across the State with this years theme “Unity Through Diversity”.

Our young people are some of the most dedicated and committed members of our community and Youth Week is a chance to take a moment and celebrate what they do.

I am pleased young people in Heathcote will have the opportunity to participate in a number of events. These include the Engadine Scooter Event on 14 April at Engadine Skate Park and the Street Art Workshop on 20 April at Sutherland Library.

NSW Youth Week offers young people an opportunity to connect with both their peers and their local community. It is also an opportunity for me to hear directly from young people about ways the NSW Government can progress services to benefit them.

The NSW Government provides over $240,000 in matched funding to local councils across the State to support locally led community events.

NSW Youth Week is celebrated from 13 to 22 April. To find out what events are happening in your area visit www.youthweek.nsw.gov.au.
