NSW households could be receiving up to $250 to help manage their energy bills with one week left to apply for the 2013-14 Family Energy Rebate.

Member for Heathcote, Lee Evans is calling on eligible families to take advantage of the energy assistance on offer, with an online application form making it easy for households to apply and receive the Rebate.

“The money is there, the funding for assistance is available, and I urge eligible families to submit their application for the 2013/14 financial year by 5pm on Friday, 13 June,” Mr Evans said.

“The process to apply for the Rebate has never been easier. The new online application form means it only takes two minutes for busy households to apply.

“Under the scheme, the Liberals and Nationals Government provides eligible families with dependent children $125 to help cover the cost of their energy bills.

“More than 540,000 families across NSW are eligible to receive the Rebate as a credit on their electricity bill.”

“The Family Energy Rebate is available to households who currently receive the Commonwealth Government’s Family Tax Benefit A or B,” he said.

“If also eligible to receive the NSW Government’s Low Income Household Rebate, households could be saving up to $250 off their energy bills.
