The 2022 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards nominations are now open. This awards program celebrates the work and achievements of seniors in the community.

Seniors are invaluable to Heathcote as volunteers, carers and role models – even more so during such a challenging year. If you know a senior who helps make our community diverse, inspiring and active, then I encourage you to nominate them for acknowledgement of their contribution. Below are descriptions of five categories to consider nominations in:

• Business
• Environment, Science, Agriculture
• Health and Wellbeing
• Lifelong Learning
• Community Service.

Please complete this form to nominate a senior worthy of recognition for the 2022 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards.

Alternatively, you can print the 2022 NSW Seniors Achievement Awards Nomination Form for your use or send to members of our community who may wish to provide a nomination. Nominations can be emailed, posted or hand-delivered to my office, details are on the form.

Please note nominations close on Monday 21 March at 5pm.

Winners of the Local Achievement Awards will be announced during the NSW Seniors Festival which runs from 25 March – 3 April.

Each year I host a special morning tea at NSW Parliament House to recognise the recipients of the awards to celebrate their wonderful achievement. The awards program are part of an exciting schedule of events across the state.

The festival and the awards highlight the vital role seniors play in the community. It is the largest festival for seniors in the Southern Hemisphere and enables older people to engage with each other, their community, services and supports.

It is one of many initiatives the NSW Government promotes to support the state’s seniors in living happy, healthy and active lives.
