In recognition of her dedication and hard work I am pleased to announce Beverly Lazarou as Heathcote’s 2018 Local Woman of the Year.
Mrs Lazarou was an outstanding candidate for the award due to her commitment to effecting positive change to the people of New South Wales in her 31 years working in woman services relating to domestic violence.
I commend Mrs Lazarou for her ongoing support and advocacy for victims experiencing domestic violence. This is a challenging field to work in that requires an incredibly strong character. Today I am pleased to recognise her dedication and the positive impact she has had on the victims she has interacted with and supported over the years.
Minister for Women Tanya Davies said the NSW Women of the Year Local Awards celebrate the contributions and successes of women who are often quiet achievers.
Today Mrs Lazarou joined me in attending the 2018 NSW Women of the Year Awards ceremony in Sydney on International Women’s Day with NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Minister for Women Tanya Davies. The ceremony was a great success in recognising women in NSW on their outstanding achievements and celebrating their contributions.
The NSW Women of the Year Awards program recognises remarkable women across the state who have achieved inspiring things in their careers, in business or in their communities
